Neighbourhood House Happenings
13 October 2004

* Tuesday November 9th : Annual General Meeting RSL Club Grey Street, Traralgon 6.30 -9pm What a great night this is going to be, one you should definitely not miss.

We will start the evening at 6.30pm with some wonderful African drumming/song entertainment. At 7pm we will start our AGM which is a celebration of our past year within the House and acknowledging those who have made a contribution to our Centre.

We are also very proud to be launching “An Elephant in a Palm Tree” a collection of written words compiled by our extremely talented and very published Creative Writing Class. This booklet will be available for sale on the night - a great Christmas gift.

Here is a great opportunity to meet our Committee of Management who represent you, the community, in all our decision making. Our guest speaker will be from Helimed and they are always entertaining with their stories.

Come along and have a great evening - yes we will provide supper - and no you don’t have to be scared to be asked to come on our committee as we accept nominations prior to the evening.

* Our Christmas Raffle - to be drawn at our annual break up picnic

As can be seen on the posters in each room, we have been lucky to receive a donation of two wheelbarrows from Green Ridge & Products - many thanks Rhonda. We need to fill these with, Christmas products - food, presents, decorations whatever which you will very generously donate. Please take the time to read the poster.

We would like one wheelbarrow to be filled by 9th November, so start those donations rolling in soon.

* Our Annual Picnic at Newman Park on Wednesday 1st December.

Come along to our annual picnic. You will receive individual invitations later. This is a fun time for everyone to meet others - Santa arriving for the kids at around 12.45. This year we will not be providing presents, as we have in the past, as we need the funds for our move to our new premises. All children will receive a balloon and a bag of lollies.

The House will provide free train rides for the children between 11am and midday. This does cost the House $300.00 and is our gift to you. Please make sure you take advantage of this offer.

For newcomers - we meet at Newman Park around 11 am you bring along a salad or dessert for everyone to share and the House provides the BBQ meat and bread. You will also need to bring something to sit on, chairs and tables or a blanket, knifes and forks, something to drink - and of course, hat and sunscreen for everyone.

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE FRONT MESSAGE BOARD FOR FURTHER SNIPPETS DURING THE TERM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND HELPING MAKE OUR CENTRE A GREAT SUCCESS
